Uganda Safaris

This safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for mountain gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park for chimpanzee tracking and a boat launch cruise. The tour begins and ends in Kampala.

Day 1 : Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
This morning, we will leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the few remaining mountain gorillas. Bird life and primate life in Bwindi is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora. Once continuous with the forests of the Virunga Volcanoes (Dian Fossey's stomping ground), Bwindi is now an ecological island, surrounded by cultivation on the rich volcanic soils.
Dinner and overnight at:
Silver Back Lodge / Ruhija Gorilla Lodge (Luxury)
Lake Kitandara Tented Camp / Engagi Lodge (Midrange)
Buhoma Community Bandas / Kisoro Tourist Hotel / Wagtail Eco Lodge (Budget)

Day 1: transfer to Bwindi
Early start from Kampala after breakfast. Enroute stop overs at the Kayabwe equator for photos and in Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch proceed reaching Bwindi late in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort or Buhoma lodge or Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
report to Buhoma Park headquarters for briefing on gorilla tracker’s code of conduct. This will be done by a park official. Thereafter a park ranger will lead you into the forest to search for the mountain gorillas. Maximum tracking time is one hour. The moment spent with these huge apes is exhilarating; the minutes will go by before you realize it. You may observe other resident primates whilst on your tracking expedition like pottos, bush babies and monkeys. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort or Buhoma lodge  or  Buhoma community Bandas.
